During five year drought in Bundelkhand, nearly fifty percent of its total population had migrated to metro cities like Delhi & Mumbai. In search of their livelihoods they left their homes with bag and baggage . According to Sanjay Pandey ,national convener of Bundelkhand Akikrit Party ,about 6000 people are leaving Bundelkhand everyday .Nearly ten percent farmers sold their all belongings including land and pets at very low prices and migrated with family permanently.

Sanjay Pandey,the convener of Bundelkhand Akikrit Party is a journalist by profession.He is the editor of national hindi news paper ,"VEER SUBHASH".Pandey also produced many documentary films for several TV channels.Sanjay Pandey was born in 1978 in Satari village of Mahoba district of UP.He is management graduate from IMC Delhi.In his leadership movement for separate Bundelkhand state is on full boom.He arranged many "Dharna" and demonstrations at jantar-mantar Delhi,at Lucknow and district headquarters of Bundelkhand region.He is supposed as a leader of ground level.
According to SANJAY PANDEY the convener of Bundelkhand Ekikrit Party there is a movement for the demand of separate Bundelkhand state since last 50 years. But the implementation on this demand is still awaited. Bundelkhand is geographically the central part of India covering some part of MP and some of UP.The population of this region is apprx.
