'My Name Is Khan' is a good movie with a bad name
Name of the movie singles out a particular last name and has put so much emphasis on it. That sends wrong vibes to people who have not yet watched the movie. There will be many who won't and they will get the wrong message. Movie should have been named something else.

Earlier I thought something
Earlier I thought something was probably missed while the movie was named My Name Is Khan but now it seems to be a planned effort to sensitize people with the name of the movie to sell more tickets. Following two events that were mere events seem to be more of publicity stunts that played with public emotions for box office success.
1) Shahrukh makes noise for delay in security check. The issue was created and even goes to the extent of calling a politician a mad person who advised him to cooperate with the system for only one hour delay.
2) All of sudden Shahrukh makes a statement to invite Pakistani cricketers to play. That is a perfect short statement, hard to oppose at once. Even I would agree but then why not any other country? Why was such statement made at a time just before the launch of MNIK? The issue was marketed well. Shiv Sena easily fell for it and worked hard to earn the blame.
3) MNIK was released. The issue was cashed.
Other than above, Shahrukh performed great this time. Sadly, that was backed by bad marketing moves.
He needs to develop more confidence and rely more on his acting skills. So called Badshah or King does not need to resort to cheap marketing gimmicks.
