Is 'Slumdog Millionaire' worth watching?
Is it really performances winning awards for the 'Slumdog Millionaire'? Yes, Indians win for showing their naked truth. This is a history created by some professionals. Their best comes when depicting their worst.
Indian slums have been shown in bad light. The movie just puts together as many as possible dark areas to come up with a movie. This has been an outstanding work for entertaining the riches only. That is why 'Slumdog Millionaire' failed at box office in India.
Doors have been opened to the world to appreciate and applaud the poor part of India. Every effort has been made to prove that only dogs live in slums and their life is ruled by the powerfuls in real life and by the 'works of entertainment' in reel life.
Any NGO has not come forward. Nobody cared to ban the movie in any part of India. And why should it be banned at all? It is winning awards. This is a great work of art. Some foreigner knows India so well. He knows very well what from India he will be able to sell to the world.
Nobody raises any questions against that. Why? Because that does not win any money or awards. Everything is now overshadowed by the Oscar nominations. Nominations for what? For the nonsense of connecting the hard slum life(?) to a gamble to become a millionaire.
If 'Slumdog Millionaire' is what wins awards I do not know what Hollywood's annual awards stand for. Or, its a sure mockery of them.
Performers have shown their great heart and courage to earn their bread and fame by selling the problems of their fellow people.
I would appreciate if any leader can raise a voice loud enough for the sake of votes at least.
