I want to know my Member of Parliament and Member of the Legislative Assembly

I heard somebody saying MPs and MLAs are public servants. I want to know how the public servant in my area is going to serve me? What are his / her roles and responsibilities? 

I am a common man from the public. I also think that the RTI (Right to Information) makes me eligible to understand below facts about the MP / MLA in my area. I am particularly interested in the following information.

• What are the specific mimimum tasks that are assigned to the MPs/MLAs when they join office?
• What is the responsibility of an MP/MLA?  
• What are the things for which an MP/MLA should be held accountable if somebody from the systm under the MP/MLA does wrong?
• Is there a mechanism that measures the performance of an MP/MLA?
